DAY 3 - Campus Tour in ISAT University Barotac Nuevo

Campus Tour in ISAT University Barotac Nuevo

After spending our Sunday resting, on Monday morning ma’am Dilag fetched me and Nia to go to ISAT U Barotac Nuevo Campus (BNC). Just like other schools, every Monday they hold a flag ceremony. The flag ceremony here is a bit different than in Indonesia. They’re not making a line up like we usually do in Indonesia. They’ll just stand facing the flag. When the flag is rising, it should be done in one drag, and they don't salute but place their right hand on their heart.

When the flag ceremony was done, the master of ceremony introduced us in front of the students. All of the students are excited to meet us, a lot of them asking for photos and our social media accounts. For some reason it felt like we were celebrities wkwkwk.

We then headed to the education faculty office to meet with all the staff that will help us while we’re here. Ma’am Dilag introduced me to Sir Ryan (our university mentor), Ma’am Armi, Ma’am Tess and Ma’am Ezra. We arranged a few things in advance about our purpose here, whether or not the final assessment was necessary, how long we would stay, and the food we couldn't eat.

Meeting with Education Faculty

After a short meeting, Sir Ryan took us on a campus tour, where we also got acquainted with some staff from other faculties. In ISAT U BNC, there are 3 departments namely, Department of Industrial Technology, Teacher Education Department, Computer and Technology Department, Hospitality and Business Management Department.

We visited the Computer and Technology Office, Office of BIT Program, Supply Office, Student Center Hall, School Publication Office, Student Republic Office, Medical Clinic, Regitrar’s Office, Cashier Office, Quality Assurance Center, and many more.

We feel very grateful, even though we have been provided with living expenses assistance from the government during our implementation of the program, the ISAT U BNC provided us with lunch. They say it's Filipino Hospitality. During lunch time we ate Arros Caldo. In appearance it looks like soto in Indonesia, but has a slightly different taste because it contains ginger inside.

In the afternoon Sir Ryan, Ma'am Dilag, Ma'am Armi and Ma'am Tess took us to visit Ina Farm and ate whipped pat while looking at the flower fields.
